Questions we hear most.
The answers here cover how we work and what you'll receive. Anything specific to your project is easier to talk through with us on our free 20-minute discovery call.
Before you book
-
Online interior design works beautifully when you want expert direction and are comfortable managing local trades, orders and the day-to-day project. You will provide accurate measurements, photographs and timely feedback; we will provide the thinking, visualisation and guidance that keep the design coherent. If you need a designer permanently on site, our standard service may not be the right fit.
-
Both, and the distinction matters less than what you actually need. Interior design covers what's fixed to the building — paint, flooring, surfaces, joinery, hardware and hardwired lighting. Interior decorating covers what you could carry out — furniture, rugs, lamps, art and objects. We offer them separately as Interior Design and Furnishing & Styling, or together as Design & Furnishing.
-
Our fee is focused on design, visualisation and documentation. You manage your local trades, purchasing and site coordination, so you're not paying for procurement or project administration you may not need. The design itself stays personal, detailed and led by one designer from brief to handover. You walk away with a design pack that you can implement on your timeline.
Procurement, site visits and trade coordination can be arranged for selected projects, but they will be scoped separately.

Yes. We are based in Australia and work entirely online, which means we can work with clients anywhere in the world. We consider your location when selecting products and suppliers, and schedule calls with your timezone in mind.
-
No. This is a designer-led interior design service. We develop the brief, spatial direction, palette, materials, joinery concepts and product selections around your actual project. Photorealistic visualisations help us test and communicate the design; the accompanying schedules and guidance help you put it into practice.
-
Yes. Every service is available for a single room — The Edit from $950, or Interior Design and Furnishing & Styling from $2,200. Ask Us Anything suits one defined decision or a second opinion. A single room is often the best way to see how we work together before committing to more.
How it works
-
Every product, material and finish you see is real, specified, sourceable and priced — that's the part we stand behind. What's indicative is the exact quality of light, the drape of a fabric, the precise variation in a piece of natural stone. Screens render colour differently to rooms. We always recommend ordering physical samples for paint, stone and tile, and the final schedules are the product reference.

We don't offer site visits as standard, working remotely is what lets us work globally and keep our pricing accessible. You provide the measurements and photographs. We will send you a briefing document to set out and guide you through exactly what's needed: floor plan dimensions for each room, ceiling heights, and the position of windows, doors and any fixed elements. Please measure rather than relying on a real-estate floor plan, which is usually indicative only. Your trades verify all dimensions before anything is built.
-
Typical lead times are: The Edit - 1 week. Furnishing & Styling - 3-6 weeks. Interior Design - 3–6 weeks. Design & Furnishing - 4-8 weeks. These are from the point of receiving your completed briefing document and measurements, not from initial enquiry. Larger or more complex projects may take longer, this will be mentioned in your scope.
-
You'll need time to gather plans, measurements and photographs, attend the review sessions and give consolidated feedback. It varies by service, and your proposal sets out exactly what's needed and when. We encourage you to spend time to measure properly and review in depth to giving us feedback to achieve the best possible results.
-
For all design services, you will receive a full Design Pack, which include always includes the design direction, colour and material palette, photorealistic visuals, specified products with supplier links. Depending on the specific service, it may also include layouts, joinery design, upholstery design, window dressing design, finish schedules and items that are specific to your project. Your proposal at the start of the project lists the exact contents for your scope.
Scope, budget and getting started
-
Yes — it's written for them. They receive paint colours with brand and code, materials and finishes with suppliers and links, joinery designed for proportion, layout and finish, and hardware, tapware and lighting selected and linked.
What it isn't is a set of construction or shop drawings. Your cabinetmaker prepares those and verifies every dimension on site, which is as it should be - they will be warranting the build. We settle what it should look like; they resolve how it gets made.
We're glad to work alongside your architect or builder where the scope and communication path are agreed at the start.
-
Not directly. We work globally, and we unfortunately can't vouch for tradespeople in every city. What we can do is tell you exactly who to look for. Your Design Pack names the trade needed for each part of the build — a cabinetmaker for the joinery, a stonemason for the benchtops, a curtain maker rather than an upholsterer for the window treatments. Knowing the right job title is most of the battle. Owners running a project for the first time often struggle to find good people simply because they're searching for the wrong trade.
-
Yes, and we'd encourage it. Working existing pieces that you love into a new scheme is one of the things we do best. Send clear photographs and dimensions of what you'd like to keep and we'll design around them. It nearly always makes for a more characterful result than starting from scratch.
-
Your implementation budget is depends on the size, condition and ambition of the project. Though it is separate from our design fee, we do ask you for a realistic budget range at the start of the process to ensure we recommend the right product and services that you can execute in your budget range. If the brief and the budget aren't yet speaking the same language, we'll say so early and help you find the decisions with the most impact.
-
Unless your proposal says otherwise: measured site surveys, architectural or engineering work, approvals, construction or shop drawings, builder supervision, procurement, delivery management and installation.
Managed procurement is available for special items — antiques, lighting, fine art — as an add-on service.
